Die Rapper Westafrikas sind die Stimme ihrer Generation. Sie sehen sich als Sprachrohr der Bedürfnisse der jungen Leute Westafrikas. In Ihren Liedern kommentieren sie die täglichen Probleme des Landes, klagen sie die Politiker an, wettern gegen Korruption und Vetternwirtschaft. Sie singen über Prostitution, hohe Arbeitslosigkeit und die Armut im Lande und fordern bessere Chancen für die Zukunft. Hip Hop im Senegal gibt es schon mehr als fünfzehn Jahre und dennoch ist afrikanischer Hip Hop bisher nur ein paar Spezialisten bekannt.
The rappers from West Africa are the voice of their generation. They see themsleves as the speaking tube for the needs of west africas youth. Through their songs they comment the daily problems of the land, accusing politicians, fighting against corruption and cronyism. They sing about prostitution, high unemployment and the poorness in the country, demanding better chances for the future. Hip Hop in Sengal exists more than 15 years nevertheless arican Hip Hop only is know to a few specialists so far.
