Brasilintime ist ein Wegweiser welcher die Welt von Rio de Janeiro im frühen zwanstigsten Jahrhundert mit der South Bronx der frühen siebziger Jahre verbindet. Die Strassen von Samba über Bossa Nova bishin zu Hip Hop sind ein komplexes Netz aus musikalischen Echos & Flüsteleien. Im Jahre 2000 kamen einige von Los Angeles' bekanntesten Soul und Jazz Session Schlagzeugern mit verschiedenen der besten Plattenspieler & Platten Scratch-Künstlern zusammen. Die Magie welche bei diesem Treffen statt fand war gleichzeitig Anerkennung & Entdeckung. Es wurde gefilmt und daraus wurde der angestrebte Kurzfilm "Keeintime: Sprechende Trommeln und Flüsterndes Vinyl". Im November 2002 reisten Schlagzeuger & Dj's nach Sao Paulo in Brasilien. Der Anlass der Reise war die Ausweitung dieser Multi-Generationsverständigung um weitere Eckpunkte aus der Welt von Samba, Bossa Nova & Samba Rock hinzuzufügen, sowie auch das beste neue Talent des brasilianischen Hip Hop's.
Brasilintime is a map that connects the world of Rio de Janeiro of the early 20th century to the South Bronx of the early 1970s. The roads from Samba through Bossa Nova to hip-hop are a complex web of musical whispers and echoes. In 2000 some of Los Angeles' most revered soul and jazz session drummers came together with some of the city's greatest turntablists. The magic that happened during this first meeting is both homage and discovery. It was filmed and became the acclaimed short "Keepintime: Talking Drums and Whispering Vinyl." In November of 2002, both drummers and DJs traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil. The purpose of the journey was to expand the multi-generational conversation to include their counterparts from the world of Samba, Bossa Nova and Samba Rock, as well as the best new talent from Brasilian hip hop.
