Ostern 2005, vom 24. bis zum 28. März fand in Berlin das “Rhythm Of The Line” Graffiti & Hip Hop Filmfestival statt. Das Programm - 30 Hauptfilme und verschiedene Kurzfilme: Dokumentationen, Spielfilme und Experimentalfilme, wurden im Eiszeitkino in der Zeughofstr. 20, Berlin Kreuzberg gezeigt. In den zwei Sälen des Kinos liefen an jedem der fünf Tage drei Blöcke, bestehend aus Hauptfilm und Kurzfilmen. Parallel zum Programm im Eiszeit Kino gab es vier externe Abendveranstaltungen, Premieren und Parties, im Yaam Club, Pfefferberg und Kino International.
Gleich am Eröffnungsabend fanden “Stations of The Elevated” und “Quality Of Life” viel Zuspruch. Publikumsmagneten waren die Premierenfilme “Freestyle - The Art Of Rhyme” und „Moebius 17“. Bei Moebius17 war das Kino International mit 550 Plätzen restlos ausverkauft - während noch ca. 200 Leute draußen warteten. Aber auch viele Kurzfilme entwickelten sich zu Publikumslieblingen, sehr erfolgreich: “Magic Colorz” und “Ostories”. Besonders haben wir uns über unsere internationalen Gäste gefreut: Kevin Fitzgerald (USA), Atsushi Numata (USA), Brian Burnam (USA), Mode 2 (UK), Elk (UK), Tobias Lindblad (Schweden) …
Dank geht an unsere Sponsoren ohne die das Festival nicht möglich gewesen wäre. Die Sponsoren waren vertreten auf Printmedien, der Website und im offiziellen Festival Film Trailer, der vor jedem Film lief.
Mailings, Ankündigungen in allen relavanten Stadtmagazinen, Radioankündigungen, viele Verlinkungen von Websiten.
Das ROTL Film Festival 2005 war ein voller Erfolg! Alle Vorstellungen waren gut besucht, jede dritte Vorstellung war ausverkauft. Wir hatten ein tolles, sehr gemischtes Publikum. Viele Leute sind in Filme gegangen, von denen sie vorher noch nie etwas gehört hatten. Aber, was am allerwichtigsten ist, dass wir Menschen zusammengebracht haben, sie einen Einblick in die verschiedenen Facetten von Writing- und Hip Hop-Filmen bekommen haben und so ein reger Austausch über diese Kultur und ihre Filme stattfand.
Ein großes Dankeschön und viel Respekt geht an alle unsere Mitarbeiter, Helfer, Freunde, Unterstützer, Sponsoren und Gäste die mit ihrer Energie und Liebe dieses Festival zu einem unvergesslichen und einzigartigen Event gemacht haben!
Easter 2005 from 24th to 28th of march the “Rhythm Of The Line” Graffiti & Hip Hop Film Festival took place in Berlin. The programm - 30 feature films and several short movies: documentaries, motion pictures and experimental films, were shown in the Eiszeit cinema, Zeughofstr. 20, Berlin Kreuzberg. In the two halls of the cinema three film-blocks were presented on all five days, consisting of a main film and short films. Along the program at the Eiszeit cinema, four external evening events, premieres and parties took place at the Yaam Club, Pfefferberg and Kino International.
Already at the opening ceremony “Stations Of The Elevated” and “Quality Of Life” gained much popularity. Most successful were premiere films like “Freestyle - The Art Of Rhyme” and Moebius 17. With “Moebius17” the 550 seats of the Kino International were sold out with about 200 people still waiting outside. But also many shortfilms turned into viewer’s favourites, especially: “Magic Colorz” and “Ostories”. All shows were well visited and every third film was sold out. We had a great, very mixed crowd. Many people went to see films, they had never even heard of before. But the most important fact: We brought people together for an active exchange about writing- and hip hop-culture and it’s films.
